Dauphines of New York is a collection of elevated Hair Accessories designed in downtown, NYC by native New Yorker Summer Rej.

Growing up in New York City, having attended The Calhoun School, a focus on art and design was always at the peak of interest - specifically a love of fashion, beauty, and accessories.

Following graduation from Cornell University in 2006, then working for Vogue Magazine, later writing for Time Out New York and New York Magazine's The Cut, Dauphines of New York was born as a result of the inspiration and access provided by the creative industry of NYC.

Dauphines of New York started as a trunk show at the iconic Henri Bendel on Fifth Avenue, ultimately rising to become one of the top-selling hair accessory brands at the store. Quickly, what was introduced as a range of adjustable elastic headbands (interchangeable as headband or necklace!), grew to the full range of hair accessories it is today (bobby pins, barrettes, hair combs, clips, headbands, tiaras and crowns, plus a full range of 100% silk soft accessories).

Each piece is designed at our downtown NYC studio, produced in NYC or Rhode Island, utilizing the finest of attention to detail. Pieces feature Swarovski crystals and pearls, 18K Gold or Rhodium Plating, and semiprecious gemstones. Each piece is true jewelry for the hair - created with the same techniques and craftsmanship applied to fine jewelry.

We are proud to work with a select group of curated retailers, including specialty fashion, accessory, and gift boutiques, beauty retailers, top spas and salons, plus some of the finest hotels in the world (including the Four Seasons Las Vegas, The Wynn and Encore Las Vegas, The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas, The Waldorf Astoria Chicago, The Ritz-Carlton Maui, The Brown Hotel in Louisville, The Windsor Court in New Orleans). We have recently held pop-up shops at revered UK retailers John Lewis (in Glasgow, Scotland and London, England) and Elys Wimbledon, hosted a shop-in-shop at the inimitable Macy's Herald Square (part of the 2025 Holiday Square), and co-hosted events in collaboration with Boots and Benefit Cosmetics (in Edinburgh, Scotland), Heyday Skincare, LK Bennett, and more. We have collaborated on capsule collections with designers from Oslo, Barcelona, and NYC.
